The quickest way to check for authenticity on your Yeezy Boost 350 V2 True Form is by inspecting the size tag and the box label of the sneakers. The fake size tag features many inconsistencies while the box label may display an incorrect size code that doesn’t match the version of your sneakers.

Wondering how to spot fake vs real Yeezy True Form?

The True Form colorway which was released in March 2019 comes in a grey color with orange accents in the upper, stripe and midsole.

Whether you are a sneakerhead or not, you want to ensure that when buying the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 True Form, you know whether you are looking at an authentic or a fake.

That is why we have created this Ultimate Guide to the Fake vs Real Yeezy Boost 350 V2 True Form Comparison embedded with images that will help you identify and differentiate a fake sneaker from the authentic ones.

This 10-step legit check guide will show you the best ways you can spot a replica of the V2 True Form.

How to spot fake Yeezy Boost 350 V2 True Form

You can tell a fake Yeezy 350 V2 True Form (TRFRM) by checking if the size tag has very thick and misplaced prints. Once you spot any one of these inconsistencies, then it is very like you are dealing with a replica.

Let’s proceed to the steps to take when authenticating your sneakers.

1. Barcode scan

When you are ready to scan the barcode of your Yeezy V2 TRFRM, we recommend that you use the Legit Check App.

When you scan the barcode using the Legit Check App, the app will run your unique barcode against other Yeezy sneakers online. Note that all Yeezy sneakers have a unique barcode that relates to a specific combination of:

  • Colorway – True Form EG7492
  • Style – 350 V2
  • Size – From 5 to 14

1.1. How to scan it

  • Download and install the Legit Check App on your phone.
  • Open the app.
  • Tap on the barcode scan icon.
  • Focus on the barcode on the box of your Yeezy 350 True Form.
Legit Check Barcode Scan Sneakers

You will need to look for matches that confirm the authenticity status of your Yeezy Boost V2 TRFRM.

1.3. Authentic results

  • Now, if the results show lots of confirmation points on Google for your unique barcode as illustrated in the picture below, then you can be assured that your box is authentic.
  • Please note that we say the box is authentic and not the sneakers because there is still the possibility that the real sneakers might have been swapped for the fake ones by the fake resellers to trick buyers into thinking the sneakers are genuine.

1.4. Fake results

  • On the other hand, if the results do not show confirmation points that match the size + colorway combination, as shown in the picture below, then you probably have a fake in your hands.
  • Please note that the barcode scanning can only be considered a perfect match when the size and colorway combination on the results match the one on the box.
  • Thus, if only one of the two matches, then the box is still a fake.

2. Size tag

2.1. The “Made In China” Label Print

  • The The inconsistency to be found here is in the quality of printing.
  • Owing to the lower quality of printing on the fakes you will spot some ink blotting in the text.
  • This is especially noticeable in the letter D in “MADE” as well as in the bottom of the right leg of “N” in “CHINA”.

If your size tag looks anything different from what is presented in the authentic picture, then chances are, you have the fake V2 TRFRM.

2.2. The First Line

  • On the authentic size tag, this is just a straight black line.
  • On the fake size tag, you will notice a white line in the middle of the line.
  • The white line should not be there and as such is a clear sign of a fake.

2.3. The “US UK FR JP CHN” Print Text

  • Again, the poor quality of the print gives away the fake sneakers.
  • On the fake size tag, this is evident in the U in the US which has varying line width as the left side of U is thinner than the right side of U.
  • Also, the R in FR is inconsistent on the fake which since parts of the letter being bolder than others. This inconsistency can be attributed to ink pooling.
  • While the text on the authentic pair is well-spaced out, on the fake V2 TRFRM, you will observe that there is uneven spacing between the text as well as between the two lines bounding the text.

2.4. The Size Number

  • On the fake label, pay attention to how the last two sizes (265 and 260) are significantly thinner than other characters on that row.
    • The 8 under the UK is slightly slanted on the fake compared to the well-aligned characters on the authentic pair.
  • Also, the 2 in 42 under FR is a bit shorter than the 4.
    • As common with most fake size tags with fractions, the structure of the 1/2 here is different.
    • Note how the 1/2 character is wider and better aligned with the rest of the text on the authentic size tag.

2.5. The APE/CLU/EVN Number Print

  • On the fake size tag, you can see that the text is slightly thinner than it appears on the original label.
  • Please note that CLU, APE or EVN inscriptions might be found here and you should not worry if you’ve got any of them.

All three inscriptions can be found on an authentic or a fake pair, so we do not consider this area to be a reliable tell for identifying a fake Yeezy V2 TRFRM.

2.6. The Adidas Text Print

  • Here, you will observe that the “Adidas” on the replica of the V2 TRFRM is thinner, thus leading to different spacing. Whereas, the “Adidas” on the authentic size tag has well-defined letters.
  • In addition to that, the replica size tag has misaligned letters. This can be spotted in the first “d” which is higher than the rest of the letters.
  • The second “a” is improperly printed and the weird shape of the letter can be attributed to ink blotting due to the lower quality of printing equipment used by the fake resellers.

2.7. The Adidas ® Copyright Location

  • While this is not the case for this specific fake size tag, the ® character should never touch the “Adidas” text.
  • So if you notice that the ® character on your size tag is touching the “s” in the Adidas, then it might be that you have the fake Yeezy V2 True Form.

2.8. The F Serial Number

  • As highlighted by the dotted line, you will notice that the characters on the fake size tag are not properly aligned and they appear to be wavy.

Please note that this text will always vary, so do not take this specific inscription to be an indicator of a fake or real V2 True Form.

2.9. The Serial Number

  • The 3 and 6 on the fake tag are placed higher than the rest of the letters.
  • But on the original size tag, the text is all well-shaped and properly aligned with one another.

Again, please note that this code will vary as well so do not consider the number itself to be a tell of authenticity. Just like before, keep on looking for inconsistencies.

2.10. The ART Number

  • Here, the inconsistency to look out for is in the appearance of the ART print.
  • Look at the different ways “ART” is printed on both the fake and original V2 TRFRM and pay attention to the differences in print quality in both size tags.

2.11. The Blank Space

  • Both size tags are missing the inscription in this case which is perfectly fine.
  • Therefore, we do not consider this specific inscription as a way of spotting the fake Yeezy True Form

If you are familiar with the size tags of the sneakers in the Yeezy-Adidas collection, then you would know that this space is supposed to feature the MALE/MÂLE inscription.

2.12. The Manufacturer Date Print

  • Please note that the production date text varies so you should not take it to be a reliable tell when authenticating the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 TRFRM.
  • Rather, pay attention to how the text is significantly thinner on the fake pair.
  • The print quality is overall bad as a consequence of the lower-quality factory equipment used by replica producers.

3. Box label

Now, it is important to understand that the Yeezy-Adidas collaboration releases its sneakers in two versions – the US version and the international version:

  • The US version displays three-country sizes on the box label – US, UK and F.
  • The international version of the V2 TRFRM, on the other hand, features 6 countries (US, UK, F, D, J, and CHN) sizes and every one of them is in equal prints on the label.
  • If the pair is a US release, then the serial number is going to end with a V02 or V03.
  • But for international (Canadian/European) releases, the serial number will end with a V10.

As seen in the image below, in the authentic international version featuring 6 sizes, the serial number ends with a V10. However, on the fake box label which is a US version, the serial number ends with a V10, as opposed to a V02 or V03.

Please note that if you notice any deviation from this pattern, then you are without a doubt looking at a fake V2 TRFRM.

4. Lacing

This lacing style follows a simple pattern:

  • The left lace goes under the right lace in the left shoe.
  • The right lace goes under the left lace in the right shoe.
  • If your lacing style does not correspond with this pattern when you first unbox your sneakers, then you certainly have a fake product in your hands.
  • However, it is important to understand that following the correct lacing pattern does not always mean the sneakers are authentic either.

Here’s a zoomed-in look of the same shoes from above:

This is because the fake manufacturer can choose to lace their sneakers to mimic the authentic pattern although it is a replica.

Thus, we do not consider this to be a foolproof indicator of authenticity.

5. Boost sole

  • The top indicator of authenticity here is the bubbliness of the boost sole.
  • If the boost of your sneakers seems slightly rigid, then it could be that you have a fake.
  • Also, you will notice that there is less differentiation between the boost pellets on the authentic Yeezy Boost V2 TRFRM and the striped circles are better defined.

Here’s the 2nd comparison:

  • While the striped circles appear to be randomly generated to the genuine sneakers, on the fakes you will notice a mathematical pattern to the circles.

Lastly, we’ve added a third fake boost for your reference:

6. Shape

  • On the replica of the V2 TRFRM, you will notice that the shoe’s opening is wider and they may appear to have a different structure from what’s on the authentic pair.
  • To help you better understand this, take a look at the sock liner and the angle from the bottom of the tongue.
  • Next, pay close attention to the “peak” of the tongue and the authentic shoes curve differently from the fake ones.
  • You will notice that while the authentic pair curves significantly more upwards, the fakes have a somewhat flatter shape.

While there may be slight variations depending on the size, the shape should remain the same as seen in the authentic picture nonetheless.

7. Sole opacity

Remember to carry out this test under a bright light for accurate results.

Yeezy TRFRM Sole Opacity Boost
  • On close observation, you will notice how the fakes have a less transparent sole, giving it a more opaque look compared to the almost translucent sole of the Yeezy Boost V2 TRFRM.
  • Also, pay attention to how the outline of the boost sole is delimited.
  • So, if your sole seems to be slightly opaque, it could be that you have a replica of the original.

8. Toe box

8.1. Profile view

  • The toe box is significantly bulkier on the fake pair when compared to the slender toe box of the authentic pair.

8.2. Top-down view

  • The overall structure of the toe box on the fakes is different from what it appears to be on the original pair.

9. Middle stitching

9.1. Front

  • The middle stitching on the fake sneaker is less structured with thicker threads when compared to wider middle stitching on the authentic pair.
  • The authentic pair has thinner stitches.
  • Generally, fake pairs have less smoother stitches compared to the real ones.

9.2. Back

  • Although present to a lesser degree, the inconsistency is still here.
  • You will notice that the stitching is weaker and narrower on the fake V2 TRFRM as opposed to the denser and wider stitching on the authentic pair.

10. Insole

10.1. Rear

True Form Yeezy Insole Rear SIde
  • Here, the first thing you should pay attention to is the embossment of the logo.
  • You will notice that the print is significantly deeper on the authentic insole, as evident in the way shadows create depth.
  • Also, the characters in “Adidas” are thicker on the replicas when compared to the thinner prints on the authentic.
  • You will also observe that there is more distance between the “Adidas” text and the outline on the fake size tag as opposed to the more compact style on the logo.
  • Lastly, on the authentic pair, the ® engraving is significantly deeper like the other characters. However, on the fake insole, the letter R is bigger than necessary.

10.2. Front

  • Here, you should pay attention to the thickness of the text.
  • As you can see, the text is significantly thicker on the authentic insole.
  • This is especially noticeable in both letters Y and the first E.
  • Owing to the bigger letters, the gap between the characters on the fake insole is narrower when compared to the more spaced-out characters on the real insole.

10.3. Serial number

The serial number can be found on the side of the Yeezy V2 TRFRM.

  • On the fake insole, the text is slightly thicker than it is on the original and as a result, you will notice reduced spacing between letters.
  • This is especially evident in the dash character between 5 and 9.

We understand how it might be difficult for you to spot some of these differences without having a fake and real pair next to each other.
