This guide teaches you how to spot fake Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Static, using images and examples.

Due to the high demand and numerous replicas of these sneakers, we’ve crafted a YEEZY authenticity guide.

Always double-check your shoe’s authenticity, given its value.

This guide works for both options:

  • Yeezy Static Non-Reflective (EF2905)
  • Yeezy Static Reflective (EF2367)

Not the colorway you need? Have a look at our Yeezy 350 V2 Black Static guide.

Without any further ado, let’s jump into the comparison guide.

How to tell if Static Yeezys are fake

The best way to tell fake Yeezy 350 V2 Static White is to check the size tag. No blotting or ink bleeding should be present on any real pair of Yeezy Static.

That aside, you will want to look at the way the Yeezy Statics are laced and the way the insole inscriptions are printed.

It may sound confusing without pictures, hence why we’ve added fake vs real Yeezy Static comparisons below.

1. Barcode

Scanning the barcode works because each shoe and size of the shoe will have an individual code that is completely unique to that size and colourway.

For instance:

  • An authentic pair of Yeezy Static Reflective, size US8 has a unique code for the USA release.
  • Another authentic pair of Yeezy Static Reflective, size US10 has its unique code for its USA release.

Every legitimate sneaker will have this special code.

Scan the highlighted barcode

1.1. How to scan it

  • Open the Legit Check App.
  • Click on the barcode icon to access the barcode scanner.
  • Put your camera in front of the barcode.
  • Scan it.
  • Check the results on Google.

Aim at the barcode and it should put the number at the bottom into a Google search, revealing the results.

Now, let’s analyze the results.

1.2. Authentic

  • Judge authenticity by checking for multiple confirmations of the code (size-colorway) on Google.
  • An authentic box doesn’t guarantee genuine shoes; scammers might swap shoes in original boxes.
  • Scanning a genuine barcode reveals multiple confirmation points.
  • Essentially, the code should match the ones found on the specific Yeezy Static size, like US 9.5.

1.3. Fake

  • The barcode on the counterfeit Yeezy Static box is fabricated, having no confirmation points for that specific pair.
  • Some fake labels might show results. Ensure the size and colorway combination matches the search results.
  • This test aims to filter out 95% of fakes.

Key Point:

  • Just finding the same colorway doesn’t prove authenticity.
  • Even finding the exact size and colorway combo isn’t conclusive proof. Remember, even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Quick Test to Identify Fakes:

  1. Multiple returns of a different colorway.
  2. The correct colorway appears but in varied sizes.
  3. No relevant results, like the given example.

If these anomalies occur, the sneaker is likely fake.

If not, continue with further checks in the guide.

Further help:

  • 95% of fake and replica Yeezy Boost V2 Static Reflective and Non-Reflective fail this test.
  • You can read the full story about how to use the barcode test over here.
  • In this article, we’ll tell the short story of the barcode test with practical examples.
  • Please make sure you read the full story if anything explained below is not clear.

2. Size tag

1. Font: MADE IN CHINA

  • The counterfeit tag has a fuzzier font, notably on letters M and A.

2. Spacing: MADE IN CHINA

  • Counterfeit tags often have messy prints, especially on letters D and E.

3. Spacing: US UK FR JP CHN

  • Fake tags might have more space between the size rows (US UK FR JPN CHN) and surrounding lines.
  • The lines on counterfeit tags tend to be thicker.

4. Placement: Size Text

  • Sizes on fake tags can be misaligned.
  • Counterfeit tags show font inconsistencies, especially on the ⅔ character and numbers “40” and “250”.

5. Thickness: adidas ®

  • Counterfeit tags have a bolder Adidas font.
  • The ® character on fake tags is less legible.

6. Font-weight: Last line

  • Fake tags often have a fuzzier, thinner font for the code.

7. Clarity: Hashtag

  • Genuine tags have a clearer print, especially evident in person.

8. Appearance: MALE/MÂLE

  • This inscription isn’t a reliable authenticity indicator, as both genuine and fake pairs can vary with this detail.

9. Boldness: Production Date

  • The production date indicates the month and year but isn’t a solid authenticity marker due to variations.
  • The genuine tag’s production date print is bolder than its counterfeit counterpart.

3. Boost

3.1. Best replica

  • On the genuine version, the pellets should have minimal variation, giving them a more “bubbly” appearance.
  • Additionally, on counterfeits, the striped circles tend to be organized in a consistent pattern.

On authentic models, they are scattered without any distinct arrangement.

3.2. Mid replica

  • On some rare occasions, authentic examples will have a “mathematical” order.
  • However, the striped circles could be rotated.

3.3. Low replica

Fake boost soles tend to keep the same pattern since they’re massively produced with no regard for variations.

4. Box

If there are six sizes displayed on the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Static box (US, UK, F, D, J and CHN), then the ending serial number should end with a V10.

However, if there are three sizes shown on the box (US – The United States, F – France and UK – The United Kingdom), then the serial number should end with a V02 or a V03.

Any other combination (US box label with V10 is a common combination for a fake) or anomaly instantly reveals a fake.

We’re highlighting once again that a pair with the right V02/V03/V10 and box label type combination doesn’t automatically reveal an authentic pair.

A quick mention:

  • The steps we’ve written so far are the BEST ways to authenticate this item
  • The next few steps are still reliable methods…
  • … but they apply to non-top-versions of replicas available for this item

If in doubt, we recommend double-checking the steps we’ve explained above this line.

5. Lacing

This tell works only for a pair that is completely new and never worn: deadstock.

  • In the genuine Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Static, viewing from the top:
    • The right lace of the right shoe is always underneath.
    • The left lace of the right shoe is also underneath.
  • In the counterfeit Yeezy Static, the lace positions are reversed.

Let us zoom in closely so you can fully understand the flaw:

  • The left lace is positioned under the right shoe, while the right lace is under the left shoe.
  • Counterfeit producers frequently misplace one or both laces, providing a quick authenticity indicator to watch for.

Note: It is easy anyone to switch up the lacing of a pair of the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Static Reflective or Non-Reflective.

  • Therefore, keep in mind that this flaw will apply mostly to unworn pairs.
  • During the lifetime of a worn pair, the wearer(s) might take the laces off.
  • They can also replace the laces in the wrong way at one point — even on a real pair!

6. Sole

  • The replica Yeezy Static may be more opaque.
  • In other words, less light goes through the sole, thus the boost sole is not as visible.

You could even compare your shoe to this image in similar lighting and see which shoe matches up with your own pair.

  • Noting that without comparison images, spotting differences can be challenging.
  • Even side by side, a fake and real pair might seem identical to an untrained observer.

7. Reflectiveness

Even the Non-Reflective Yezys have reflective details:

  • Yeezy Non-Reflective: Just the laces.
  • Yeezy Reflective: The laces and all over the shoes.

We’ll analyze each pair, one-by-one. Let’s start with the laces of the Non-Reflective.

7.1. Static Non-Reflective

  • The genuine pair, as shown in the image, has a distinct glow when photographed.
  • This detail applies to both shoe types.
  • However, the provided comparison focuses on the Yeezy Static Non-Reflective EF2905.

7.2. Static Reflective

  • The differences in shine on the fake vs real Yeezy Static pair can be spotted in terms of alignment.
  • The fake pairs seem to have more of a random distribution of reflective material.
  • The authentic one seems to have it well-aligned.
  • The lines are pretty straight and mathematically aligned on the real Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Static Reflective example.

Helpfulness: The attached comparison differs from the previous one due to varying light conditions.

Considering your lighting might also not match our genuine example, we’ve included this scenario for discussion.

8. Shape

  • The fake Yeezy Static has a narrower opening for the wearer’s foot.
  • Fake models will often have taller tongues compared to the real models.
  • When we say “taller tongue”, it may be hard to put into words, yet what we mean is this: the peak of the shoe’s tongue sits differently when comparing the fake and the real Yeezy Static versions.

As a consequence of the aforementioned tongue, the structure of the sneaker is different.

9. Insole

9.1. Rear

  • On a fake model, there could be too much of a gap between the Adidas Trefoil logo and the hexagonal pattern next to it.
  • It is also a good idea to look at the definition of the writing.
  • The Adidas writing and the R may be less defined on a fake version as well as Adidas being written in a bolder font.

9.2. Front

  • On the Adidas logo, the A character is less defined on the fake, and the D letter is chipped.
  • An authentic pair will always have a sharply-printed trefoil logo.
  • Some fakes may have rounded edges on it — we’ve highlighted this with the rightmost hand emoji in both cases.

9.3. Serial number

  • The characters on the insole’s side are larger in the counterfeit compared to the genuine version.
  • Consequently, characters on the fake are more closely spaced, especially evident with the dash.
  • Such inconsistencies indicate the use of inferior manufacturing equipment, making it a clear sign of a replica.

10. Stripe

Please note that this flaw only applies to the Yeezy Static Reflective.

  • The stripe on the authentic Yeezy 350 V2 Static stops within a decent amount of space before the toe caps of the sneaker pair, so as to reveal more 3M reflective material.
  • Fake Yeezy Static Reflective maintain the same pattern found on the Non-Reflective version.
  • Hence, the fake has this stripe ending pretty close to the extreme end of the sneaker.

Shortlist: Authenticate your Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Static

  1. Shoe Shape: Examine the shoe’s overall shape, ensuring the tongue isn’t excessively long.
  2. Lacing: From a top-down view (as if you’re wearing them), on the right shoe, the right lace should be underneath, and on the left shoe, the left lace should be underneath.
  3. Boost Sole: Review the sole’s pellets; counterfeit pairs often have pellets that don’t match the required shape.
  4. Size Tag: Inspect the size tag closely for discrepancies, as highlighted in the fake vs. real Yeezy Static comparison.
  5. Laces with Flash: Photograph the laces using flash; genuine versions should exhibit a clear glow from the 3M material.
  6. Stripe Length (Reflective Version): If assessing the reflective version, ensure the stripe isn’t overly long, leaving ample space at the front.
  7. 3M Sides’ Reflectiveness: Typically, counterfeit shoes have diminished shininess on the 3M sides.
  8. Yeezy Shape: Counterfeit Yeezys often deviate in curvature, being either less or overly curved, especially around the tongue.
  9. Insole Inspection: Counterfeit insoles frequently exhibit flaws: the rear logo might be too arched, the “R” character could be too proximate to the Adidas logo, the “adidas YEEZY” text often appears too thick and misshapen, and the serial number text on the insole’s side might be too slender.
  10. Stripe Length: For Reflective pairs, an overly elongated stripe is a telltale sign of a fake pair.
