How to Tell If a Hermès bag is REAL

The answer is: Check if the “HERMÈS PARIS MADE IN FRANCE” text uses the same font for every letter. Replicas never have the right font.

1. Graveren

• Authentiek: Thicker, same font-weight for all letters — with more distance in-between.
• Nep: Thinner inscriptions, and the letters are too close to each other.

2.1. Appearance

• Authentiek: Thinner text, as it doesn’t fit so deep in fabric.
• Nep: Thicker inscriptions — too deep into the laether.

• Authentiek: Every stitch is angled the same, at 18 degress.

• Authentiek:
  1. The edges of the metal are curvier.
  2. The “-HERMÈS-PARIS-” text is thinner.
• Nep:

  2. Thicker inscriptions.

4.2. Interior

• Authentiek: Perfectly straight stitching — also thicker.
• Nep: Stitching is crooked and thin.

7. Lock

• Authentiek: Thinner engravings all over the padlock.
• Nep: Very thick “HERMÈS” text logo and numbers.

8. Luggage tag

• Authentiek: Thinner threads.
• Nep: Very thick stitching all over the label.

9. H Logo

• Authentiek: Smooth golden surface — doesn’t reflect lots of light.
• Nep: Reflects too much light.

9. Stofzak

• Authentiek: Smaller and thicker “H” logo.
• Nep: The “H” is too thin and wide.
