Got an Ambush tee? Let’s legit check it.
Use this 4-step guide to verify yours.
We’ll use the Ambush Chain T-Shirt for reference. However, this guide works for +95% of Ambush’s tees.
How to spot fake Ambush t-shirts
In summary, the quickest method for identifying fake Ambush items is to inspect the wash tag and neck tag.
Counterfeit Ambush tees typically feature inscriptions with incorrect thickness.
1. Wash tag
Authentic Ambush T-Shirt:
Features a number “2” (or relevant size number) that is thin and wide.
Exhibits a “100%” inscription that is thicker, well-defined, and with closely spaced characters.
Has “30” text in the washing symbol that is thinner and with the numbers close together.
Boasts a “MADE IN JAPAN” inscription with thicker characters.
Displays the “AMBUSH” text as wider and less narrow.
Positions the registered trademark “®” symbol closely to the “AMBUSH” text.
Fake Ambush T-Shirt:
Utilizes a thicker and boxier font for the size number “2.”
Presents a “100%” inscription that is really thin and with more space between characters.
Features “30” text inside the washing symbol that is too thick and with too much space between the “3” and “0.”
Uses a too-thin font for the “MADE IN JAPAN” inscription.
Prints the “AMBUSH” text too boxy and too narrow.
Places the registered trademark “®” symbol too far away from the “AMBUSH” text.

2. Neck tag
Authentic Ambush Chain Tee:
“AMBUSH®” Text: Thicker and more massive lettering.
“®” Symbol: Thinner compared to the fake tee.
Fake Ambush Chain Tee:
“AMBUSH®” Text: Letters appear too thin.
“®” Symbol: Notably thicker than on the authentic tee.
A quick mention:
The steps we’ve written so far are the BEST ways to authenticate this item The next few steps are still reliable methods… … but they apply to non-top-versions of replicas available for this item
If in doubt, we recommend double-checking the steps we’ve explained above this line.
3. “A” Logo
Situated on the front of the tee.
Authentic Ambush Chain Tee:
Letter “A”: Threads are not visibly sharp; overall build is thicker.
Fake Ambush Chain Tee:
Letter “A”: Threads look too sharp at edges and appear too thin overall.
4. Extra label
Authentic Ambush Chain Tee:
“AMBUSH®” / “NEW CHAIN T-SHIRT” Text: Letters are thicker and placed close together; no extraneous spaces or misplacements in the text.
Fake Ambush Chain Tee:
“AMBUSH®” / “NEW CHAIN T-SHIRT” Text: Letters appear too thin and are spaced too far apart.
Specific Issues: Extra spaces observed in “AMB USH®,” “NE W,” and “C HAIN.”
Dash Misplacement: The dash in “T-SHIRT” touches the letter “S.”
Authenticity checklist
Wash Tag : Check the wash tag for thin and improperly shaped text.
Neck Tag : Verify the text on the neck tag, as fake Ambush Chain tees often have text that is too thin.
Letter “A” : Examine the letter “A” on the front of the tee, as fake tees may have sharp threads and thin letters.
Extra Label : Inspect the extra label for text that is at the wrong thickness and improperly spaced between letters.
These indicators can help you determine if your Ambush tee is authentic or counterfeit.
