1. Serial number

We’ll break this down into sections. First…

1.1. Where to find it

Your iPhone 15’s serial number is in two places:

• In the phone: Settings > General > About > Serial Number.
• On the box: Flip it upside-down > Bottom-right side > Serial Number.

1.2. How to scan it

1. Open an internet browser (on any device)
2. Go to this website: checkcoverage.apple.com
3. Type your iPhone 15’s serial number
4. Complete the captcha
5. Hit “Send“

You might have to wait a couple of seconds after sending it.

Then…

1.3. Results

• Authentic: Valid purchase date, serial number, and warranty (if the case).
• Fake: Invalid serial number and no purchase date.

2. Lock screen

• Authentic: Correct, basic Apple font.

3. Buttons

• Fake: No Flashlight and random “i” icon for the Camera.

• Fake: Android frame with uneven corners.

7. Font

Pretty repetitive, however this is a very basic call-out for fake iPhones.

• Authentic: Uses the correct Apple San Francisco font.
• Fake: Android, classic Samsung font.

8. Cameras

• Authentic: Thinner lines.
• Fake: Thicker outlines the cameras.

9. Box

• Authentic: Repeats the same text in multiple languages.
• Fake: Only says in it in English.

Fake boxes may also have typos.

10. Major defects

• Authentic: Never has any scratches inside the box.
• Fake: May sometimes have a ripped box, like above.

11. Receipt

An authentic Apple receipt never looks like this.
