You have a Jacquemus bag.
And you’re not sure if it’s authentic.
We’ll help you legit check it, for free!
How to spot a fake Jacquemus bag
Any fake Jacquemus bag can be busted through the interior “JACQUEMUS MADE IN ITALY” label. Dupes never have the right thickness for the text.
1. Label
Authentic:
Stitching is a bit angled — no perfectly straight stitches there.
The text is thicker compared to the fake.
Fake:
Stitching is perfectly straight.
“JACQUEMUS” + “MADE IN ITALY” are too thin.
Too difficult? Let our team of expert Jacquemus authenticators take a look at your bag:
2. Handler
Look at the base of the handler to find this pointy patch.
Authentic:
Fewer stitches than on the fake bag.
Hence, the real ones are longer.
Fake:
Denser stitches.
The stitches are too short as well.
3. Logo
We’ll look at two factors here, beginning with the text’s thickness and then the 3D factor.
3.1. Thickness
Authentic:
Letter “A” has a smaller gap inside.
“Q” is wider on the interior, empty side.
“S” is narrower.
Fake:
The “A” has a bigger gap inside.
Letter “Q” is too narrow.
“S” is too wide.
3.2. Shape (3D)
Specifically, we care about how much the text comes out of the bag.
Authentic: Letters are fit deeper into the bag, without sticking out as much.
Fake: The letters come out of the bag too much.
Beware that the opposite is also possible — very bad fakes have the letters almost printed instead of sticking out of the bag.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t find any picture of that at the moment.
A quick mention:
The steps we’ve written so far are the BEST ways to authenticate this item The next few steps are still reliable methods… … but they apply to non-top-versions of replicas available for this item
If in doubt, we recommend double-checking the steps we’ve explained above this line.
4. Back
Authentic: Thicker, more solid threads.
Fake: Thinner stitches.
5. Flap
Authentic: Visibly thicker, bigger, and more solid threads.
Fake: Thinner and smaller stitches.
6. Strap
Authentic: Thinner threads on both sides of the strap.
Fake: Overly thick stitches.
7. Carbines
Authentic: Thicker, clearly more legible inscriptions.
Fake: Harder to read — the letters are too thin, especially the “A”.
Shortlist: Tell fake Jacquemus on the go
Label : Authentic labels have angled, not perfectly straight stitching, and thicker text; fakes have perfectly straight stitching and thinner text.
Handler : Authentic handlers have fewer, longer stitches; fakes have denser, shorter stitches.
Logo :
Thickness : Authentic logos have a smaller gap in “A”, wider “Q”, and narrower “S”; fakes have a bigger gap in “A”, too narrow “Q”, and too wide “S”.
Shape (3D) : Authentic logos are less protruding, fitting deeper into the bag; fakes stick out too much or, in very bad fakes, appear almost printed.
Back : Authentic bags have thicker, more solid threads; fakes have thinner stitches.
Flap : Authentic flaps feature visibly thicker, bigger, and more solid threads; fakes have thinner, smaller stitches.
Strap : Authentic straps have thinner threads; fakes have overly thick stitches.
Carbines : Authentic carbines have thicker, more legible inscriptions; fakes have thinner, harder-to-read letters, especially the “A”.
